RD Class of 2020

Does anyone know when the decision is coming out? I’m excited!

Last year they uploaded decisions to the portal the second Friday of the month, which would be next week. So I’m hoping that trend continues this year because I’m going a little crazy.

What’s your stats?

I got in Early Decision 1, so my stats might give you an idea of what they look for. I have a 5.34 weighted (3.26 unweighted), and I got a 1740 on my SATs. I take mostly Advanced level classes with a few APs and Honors. I also had a great interview (I think). For my extracurriculars, I am editor-in-chief of my school newspaper, and I had two internships last summer. I showed a lot of interest and visited the campus a few times, so I think that might have helped me out. Let me know if you have any questions! I’d be happy answer.

I’m tempted to call and inquire about decisions. I just want a date to look forward to.

@vinylraincoat What was your overall impression of the school when you visited? I’m in California, so I haven’t had the chance to visit any East Coast choices.

And did you apply for financial aid?

@mjstewart1224 I loved the school… The second that I walked on that campus I knew it was the school for me. The people seem so welcoming and quirky (which is lacking at my high school). It’s a really beautiful campus too. I went for the open house, so I also took a class. The professors are so sweet, and the professor/student relationship is super casual. The students refer to their professors by their first names, which I thought was awesome.

I’m sure that decisions will be out soon. Their website says late March to early April, but for Early Decision I, it said late December, and I got my decision December 15. My admissions counselor called me on December 15 with the good news, which was really awesome. Decisions went on the portal December 16, and I got my acceptance letter in the mail on December 18 with a cute little personal message from the Dean of Admissions.

I applied for financial aid, but I haven’t heard anything back yet. I’m not really expecting any aid, though.

Is Sarah Lawrence your first choice?

@vinylraincoat I’m not sure. I love the school’s educational system, and since I want to be a lawyer and go to a top 10 law school, the writing program seems perfect for me.

But it’s in NY, and I would love to stay in SoCal. My other top choice is USC. I prefer SLC overall, but USC’s financial aid unbelievable. It would be hard to turn down that kind of money. Law school will put me in enough debt.

If I get into both schools, it will be an extremely difficult choice. My heart wants SLC, my brain says USC is a smarter choice.

I emailed my admissions counselor and asked about when decisions would be released. She said by the end of next week electronically. Good luck everyone!

@collegekid662 YAY!!! You are awesome! Thank you for letting us know. Now I can chill until the end of next week instead of frantically checking my email every day.

Omg! That’s super helpful!

Ok. My patience has worn thin. Anyone else going a little crazy here?
