Acceptance letters are clearly distinguishable. They are huge packets!

I interpreted the April 9th date as the latest we would receive anything-- not when they would send them out. I still believe that sent out by April 1st is reasonable; for some reason this week seems too early even with Holy Week next week.

^^ That’s how I felt too, but hopefully it is this week!

I would place money on Thursday March 28 as the day they send them out. That seems to have been the general pattern (last Thursday March) the last several years. Plus, then they don’t have to worry about answering calls on Good Friday because most people will not receive the letters until Saturday or after Easter.

2005: March 26–Saturday (Easter: March 27)
2006: March 30–Thurs.
2007: March 29–Thurs.
2008: March 27–Thurs. (Easter: March 23)
2009: Couldn’t find
2010: March 25–Thurs.
2011: March 25–Friday
2012: Couldn’t find

*These dates are from CC posts. Also, the years that Easter fell close to the day letters were sent out, it doesn’t appear ND was concerned with sending them out before Easter. All other years Easter fell in mid-April.

History may be on your side, but I am telling you that an admissions employee has told us that letters will be mailed this Thursday. I don’t know how that can be refuted. It was told in “secrecy.”

Don’t get me wrong-- I would love for them to be sent this Thursday! Haha I really am hoping that’s the case

I also have inside info that they’ll be sent on Thursday… They like them to be in the mailboxes for people when they get back from Spring Vis and that’s this weekend so my money is on thursday.

Good luck to all

Would be so excited to know that they are sent out this Thursday! It seems likely that they would want them to go out before Holy Week, and not after (so that they can compete with Ivy Day)

Does anyone here know how ND notifies international students? is it be email or regular mail?

Last year they were sent on Wednesday, March 28. Local people began receiving them the next day. In Philly, it took three days to get here so my son knew on March 31.

We will be on Spring Break and not get the mail until we return. Do they eventually post online?

For domestic applicants, I believe it is only snail mail. They might notify int’l applicants via email, but don’t quote me on that.

Do they release or post anything to alert once letters have been mailed? I thought I read something about admissions tweeting when they mail out.

Sent from my SGH-T769 using CC

They did tweet when they sent EA letters, so I am assuming they will do the same for RD. @NDadmissions

Do they send Priority or First Class Mail

Thanks ejcclc, I’m already following them on Twitter

Sent from my SGH-T769 using CC

First class mail.

They’ll probably also post on the NDAdmissions FB page. :]

The tweet from early action was at 5 eastern

My guidance counselor today has confirmed the Thursday mailing day. A lot of faculty kids who would have definitely gotten in previous years have been notified of their rejection. Unfortunately this is the toughest year in history for ND admissions due to the high number of applicants from the football teams success.
