DC, are you from ohio?

That's odd you didn't get a scholarship, but I guess there's nothing you can do about it. It's my top choice, though I'm still waiting on 4 schools.

no, from ky

Accepted with a Prov. Scholarship ($18600)

Now its between Case Western and In-State Penn State :)
(AND pending Harvard, but im realistic enough to realize that there's a possibility I won't get into HU ;))

Yeah I'm still waiting on four colleges and 3 huge reaches, but I'm assuming I won't get in. So I'm happy that i'm probably going to case. :D

dc where are you from in ky? i really think i got zero beacuse a ton of people from my school always apply---and most of them are in the math/science magnet program at my school---and of course have way better statistics----i think case get a lot applicants from ky in general too---well relative to other top schools

Accepted!

I was too lazy to get the mail yesterday but today I checked and I got in.
Stats:
3.9 UW GPA
2210 SAT (770V, 760M, 680M)
800 math2c
790 Physics
790 USH
780 Chem
No ranking
VA resident

25700 renewable Trustee's Scholarship

Frankly I really wasn't happy when I read "congratulations." It's a great school and all that, but I have other top choices to wait for.

im from LHS, you are probably from dunbar

i just wanted to see what everybody else was getting with their stats

imiracle...those stats are a lil silly..lol...where else did you apply

what's so silly about my stats?

yeah i think the MSTC effect probably hurt you too

Here are some stats from my son's younger friends for this year:

1580/1600
4.0/4.0
Accepted, $25,700

1380/1600
3.5/4.0
Wait List

1380

i got accepted in December:
1280 SAT
30 ACT
GPA: 3.6ish
Provost's Special Scholarship: $18,600
I don't know if I'm going, still waiting to hear from Carnegie Mellon, Hopkins, UPenn, NYU, and Boston University

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I heard being form Ohio is a big disadvantage when applying to Case...they like students from out-of-state because they already have so many students from in-state.

I think that may be why people with high stats are getting waitlisted...

does anyone know the latest date you can find out abotu case? its basically a reach school that i applied to to see if icould get in.. adn im already enrolling somewhere else... but im just anxious.

lol

well I still haven't recieved a response yet (still under review according to the website)

I have a 1370 but not very good SAT II scores and I believe a GPA around 3.3-3.4 across my HS career...not sure where I will enroll. I got a nice scholarship offer from WPI and haven't really heard definitively from more then 1 other school. Things will get real interesting the next 4-5 weeks... :D

When i checked, it said, "The committee has reached a decision. Look for the official letter in the mail."
Is that bad? my stats aren't bad at all.
