Hopefully, we will:) Reed is like my top choice LAC

Oops. I meant the 26th…and the 27th is a Saturday. Bleh.

Reed’s my second choice overall. After Princeton :P

Reed is my first choice that isn’t really a reach.

One piece of advice from someone who’s been down the road you’re on: Don’t obsess with one college you’ve applied to, and treat other colleges as second best to it. Especially as an international student requiring aid, it’s important to choose colleges you love and would be happy attending; just as there’s no point loading your list only with the Ivies, there’s no point loading your list with safeties or colleges you don’t particularly like when compared to another, possibly more selective and higher ranked one. It just leads to unhappiness and dissatisfaction, when you actually have to attend what to your mind is second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth…thirteeth best. Therefore, treat all your colleges (provided you truly value them) as your first choice. I’m not saying this because I’m biased towards Reed, but because having been through decision time, I know I treated some as “safer” than others, but ended up getting waitlisted/rejected at those places. However, knowing I loved all my colleges equally and getting into a college that was more selective and far more difficult for an international student requiring aid than quite a few on my list, didn’t dent my ego too much.

Also, SageMIomo, not to add to your anxieties, but unfortunately purely through numbers Reed is a reach for you (Reed’s average SAT score is now ~1420-Math+Verbal). Thankfully, Reed is a Liberal Arts Colleges that aims to de-emphasise the “numbers” of an applicant and evaluate him/her holistically. I just want you to know whatever the outcome, you’re great. Having read your essay and knowing you love the college, I really hope you get in. :)

Oh yeah considering my
sat scores it is a reach…well I guess I meant super super reach haha.

Haha, no worries. Often people feel victimised by a college, if they’re waitlisted/rejected, and they view the college as a “safety” or “match” or whatever. These tags we assign make no sense in any case, as has been proven, you can get into your “reachiest” college and be rejected by your “safest” college. I just wanted to make sure that you have a realistic view of your chances, so you don’t question your self-worth over it, but sometimes the process is numerical and decisions can be based on numerical factors.

I love Reed so much!!! Any one hearing anything from Reed? I guess they will release its decisions tomorrow?

^ toiyeuvietnam, it might be tomorrow or sometime early next week (the latter is more likely). Good Luck! :)

Amherst is tomorrow, and Williams day after. Maybe all the LACs want to finish it off this week. A lof of them have already released decisions.

If Reed rejects me, a part of me will die.
I don’t mean to be melodramatic but still… I probably won’t even be able to attend due to finances and stuff, but a rejection would just kill a part of me.
Whoa, way to gear up for rejection…

I don’t know, gary7, there might be a strong possibility it’s early next week, but if they want to finish it off tomorrow or day after, they may just.

Also, sushmita, there’s no need to be so pessimistic. Why would you expect a rejection already? You’re a great applicant!

Lets just say, I’m hoping that they are out tomorrow, or day after tomorrow :stuck_out_tongue:
And Sush, you ARE a great applicant!!

What time did they send notifications last year?

^^ YES! So that I don’t have to refresh my mail every 0.00235211397345 seconds.

Sushmita, I bet your a great applicant too, they are gonna love you. I got into UC Berkeley, so Reed is like the last college I hear back from that I actually have a small chance of getting into…yaay.
