^ Congrats on Berkeley, SageMIomo-that’s great! Good luck with Reed, Brown etc. You never know what happens. College Admissions are funny like that.

UCB is fantastic! Congrats :)

Hey Gary! Yes, I applied to Reed too; learned that it was an awesome fit for me as soon as I found it. Do we really have that many overlaps?

Technically my email reached me on 26th March, 4:08 pm (PST)/ 27th March 5:38 am (IST). Daylight Saving goes on at this time of the year, right? That could also be because I’m an international applicant and I was sent it earlier. Anyway, based on an e-mail I received from Reed about some documents they need to send me, I’m assuming decisions come out next week, but I suggest just not fretting over when decisions will be released. Just deal with it calmly, and if someone here reports that they got an e-mail, that’s your sign. I remember I woke up in the morning and this was one of the first things I saw on my computer and it was so wonderful because it came as a surprise.

I don’t understand how ‘your’ documents have anything to do with the decision dates :-/
Bilg, are you actually considering Reed over Harvard?

My documents, which are related to Admissions, I gather, will be mailed with the decisions, from what one of the officers indicated, but then again I could be wrong because they may just send it after this entire frenzy is over. Ah well. Like I said-be surprised.

Good luck guys - the next few days are going to be the longest days of my life

Goodluck kirin!
I still don’t get how an accepted student’s docs are related to admissions…FA maybe? Lets just leave it there and enjoy the wait I guess :D

Well, I’m technically part of the Class of 2014 now, so that could be a reason. I’m expecting Financial Aid and a few deferral related documents, that are supposed to guide me through what I’m supposed to do from hereon.

oh! Makes sense now :)

Gary, yes I am.

Reed, is a class of its own :P

Thanks guys! Here it is…the final run…yaaaaaaay overdramaticness!

Ohhhh, and good luck everyone! Now I sound like tiny Tim…whoooo!

Haha! We are allowed to be hyper for a few days :D

Related to Reed being in a class of its own, this may sound surprising, but I’ve known of people choosing Reed over Harvard, Stanford, Brown PLME, the regular Brown and several other “better” colleges, and none of them weighed in financial considerations. Sometimes, it’s just about what you like best, and since Reed is so un-cookie cutter-like, if it really fits you, you can love it beyond all bounds.

I am so nervous. When will the decision out?

^^nobody knows
Just hang in there :)

Ahhh… Now I’m worried that these decisions are coming today…

I have my IB art evaluation at 1:30.

Blah. Why do these things keep coinciding? I got my UChicago decision on my birthday. =

“I’ve known of people choosing Reed over Harvard, Stanford, Brown PLME, the regular Brown and several other “better” colleges”

Reed can be a natural choice over others (here excepting Harvard) for those planning careers in academia or research, based solely on published PhD prep statistics.
