RD Decisions...anyone have a date/

@in_rainbows: I was there for the summer program this past summer as well! What program did you take; what session were you there for?

We should all breath. They'll come out soon enough. I agree that they should have a set date. It'd make it easier to relax about it...

OMG! Okay... I was taking a creative writing class, from like late June to early July, ish. Which was the first session, I think. You?

I agree that this not-giving-you-a-date thing is cruel, btw.

But they did give us a date! April 1st. Anything before that is gravy, in my opinion.

Not giving us a date allows them to release them as soon as the decisions are completely ready. They could just as easily do what other schools do, and say April 1st is when they will be released, but then even if they're done with them on March 23rd, they would wait until April 1st. I can't get mad at them for living up to their word. It's you guys that gave them an expected deadline of today. They gave no REAL reason to believe they would be released today.

this is definitely going to be the longest weekend ever

doesnt it just say early april on the site not april 1st?

@in_rainbows: I was in American Law and Litigation. For the first session :D

They said BY April 1. Meaning, we can hear before that.

yeah....for the sake of our collective sanity, the speculation needs to stop. we're all gonna die of cardio-respiratory failure if we don't, guys. the decisions will come when they come, and that's that.

And you need your respiratory system + a lot of circulation to celebrate your acceptances!

I've already died several times from cardiac arrest back in EA. It was tragic, because I was only 17. Good thing is that I was resurrected afterwards, so now I can die a few more times for RD. (Perhaps the Flying Spaghetti Monster resuscitated me)

lol. the flying spaghetti monster? I think I read someone who wrote an essay on it back then. =O

cOuLd It bE YoUrS?

^ab2013

let's not forget about the china teapot between Earth and Mars:D

or the invisible pink unicorn.

Or the Great Pumpkin.

But the same thing happened to me EA. :/

good luck everyone..am sure patience will be the greatest virtue in these coming 2 weeks.

You guys need to take a deep breath and just let go. Nothing you can change until decisions come out, so don't think about it until you get the email. (This is also my philosophy for, oh, orchestra auditions; keeps me from going out of my mind waiting for results). So . . . relax. Deep breaths. Do some yoga, watch 'Bambi Meets Godzilla' or 'Balto' or 'The Lion King' . . . Be productive!

Btw, I personally like the dragon in the garage the best, though the IPU and Flying Spaghetti Monster do stand up there tied for number two. I'll admit I'm not an atheist, though.

Oh, I didn't see another thread on the regular decision date before I made my own. Oops! I really can't wait to hear from them. Chicago's admissions staff was one of the most helpful and nicest when I was filing my application. And don't you just love how you can update your application online? I was so glad I could include my new internship and volunteer project. Even if I don't get in, I'm glad I got to tell them anyway.

omg, i love their update feature. it's the most generous thing admissions officers have ever given us.

seriously, even if i'm not accepted, it just makes me feel that i'm getting to provide them with everything i truly care about.

it's fabulous.

thank you chicago for the update feature. seriously.

Colby College also has a special application update form that can be filed before somewhere in February. I graduated in 2007 so I had a lot of work I did in 2008 to write about in my applications. But it seems unfair that most of those applying while still in school don't have the opportunity to include anything special they've achieved or done after filing their applications. Unless in an interview or something. Still, not many international students get interviews easily.

^ true..i am an international and i got interviews from just 3 out of the 11 places i applied to..
