^^Ha, yeah I was thinking the same thing - Wednesday is the middle of the week, so decisions should be out tomorrow. (But at the same time, I'm preparing myself for the disappointment of them not being out until Wednesday or later.)

I will not believe anything until I get notification that my decision is available:]

In the mean time, I'm going to write a Chaucer research paper! woo!

I agree with the Wednesday = middle argument. They should be out tomorrow, and if not, DEFINITELY by Wednesday.

Then all of this horrible speculation will be over. Unfortunately, I won't finish getting raped by the college admissions process until I make a decisions, which will probably be April 30.

don't even remind me! knowing is half the battle... then i have to visit and actually make the decision :( i guess we just have to get through it step by step? the waiting, then the deliberation, then finally... time for AP exams.

If there were any "tinge of sadism," they'd totally go all out: post them at like 12:30 AM, keep taking them down then putting them back up at like ten minute intervals, only putting some people's up, putting up wrong decisions and then being like "just kidding," giving some people a message saying that their application is under review until May and other people a message that they have to fly to Chicago for their decision, giving some people both an acceptance letter and rejection letter that are like flashing on and off... oh dear. This would make a fantastic short, or something. ;)

^^ AP exams are the FARTHEST thing from my mind at the moment!

I rarely think about them and definitely do NOT want to take them..

I'm all for the Tuesday proposition:]

We should vote on it..

sugar magnolia, tht was the funniest thing I've read all day!

^^Unless they were lying to you :)

haha i agree sugar magnolia, your comment was hilarious :)

but it would be horrible in real life

i say wednesday cuz it was wednesday last year
however i got a rejection today, and so now i'm full of self doubt

Are any of you on this thread international students?

^misterme34:

I'm really sorry about your rejection!!! Just know that even though one school may reject you, another school may view you differently (aka they like you) and may offer you an admit. That's what happened to a few Stanford likely letters. The same people Stanford liked got outright rejected by MIT.

You never know...

Shortly afterwards, a lawsuit: Nervous high school applicants of Class of 2013 vs. the University of Chicago College Admissions, 2009.

Who will win? Of course we will! Then the Supreme Court will punish the adcoms for being so cruel by forcing them to offer all of us hardworking HS students admits.

It's so nice to dream sometimes...

Hahaha, oh wow...only in a UChicago forum would one see such a lively and panicky discussion about decision dates.

I'm an international student!
And I'm totally screwed because I need financial aid.
(I've been living in the US for the last 8 years though--still waiting for my green card, gahhh.)

It's rather unfortunate that UChicago is need-aware for international students... but still, can't help but wait...

@infinitemishaps:

I totally empathize with you. I got my Permanent Residence two days after I submitted my SCEA app to Stanford. I got so lucky... I have been living here for almost thirteen years, and it took twelve to get it... Bonne chance, my friend.

I need financial aid too and I live in South Asia. The only reason I was so comfortable with applying to universities abroad is because my dad works for an airline and I get a whole heap of free flights every year, which means I don't have to worry about travel and summer housing costs.

@Carnacki:

I'm happy for you! At least you got yours in time to apply for college and whatnot. That makes the financial aid aspect so much easier! I'm a bit worried because I get no federal/state aid whatsoever... but things will work out, hopefully.

Best of luck to all of you! Let's hope that those decisions come out tomorrow--whether it be good or bad. I can't stand this tension anymore!

omg the stress is killing me..

ahhh U Chicago :( STOP TORTURING MEEEE
