have any CA students not received their letters yet? I am sure i haven't been accepted...

Redbull, I believe you get to decide and withdraw from the school you previously committed to attend if you wish.

As for me, I was offered a place on the waiting list but will not be accepting that offer.

in virginia.... waitlisted....

In DC, rejected (my chances at Harvard, Brown and Wesleyan are looking worse and worse).

Ben

I know I am mentioned this several times, but all accepted Swatties! Join the unoffical Swat '09 forum - http://www.swarthmore09.org/
Apparently there is an 'offical' forum, but a lot of us ED people don't have access to it yet, and I suspect the unofficial one has quite a bit more activity. :)

[li] why you think you were accepted: Legacy and Why Swat Essay. I'm pretty certain.[/li][/ul]Other Factors: My friend got an early-write 2 weeks ago so I got worried, but I guess it turned out alright in the end. For those who didn't get in, I'm sure you'll do great at other schools, don't worry, and for the waitlisted, hang in there!

Maybe I'll see some of the other acceptees @ Ride the Tide?

Opposite for me, sempi. WLed at Duke, Accepted at Swat.

I'm from CA and no letter yet. Since they were sent out Monday we should get them tomorrow.

The CC RD admit rate so far doesn't seem terribly promising. Congrats to those who were admitted, good luck to those who have yet to hear from Swarthmore, and to those who were waitlisted/rejected I'm sure you will end up loving the college you choose!

Subjective:
Essays: common app was deep, why swat was lame because I didn't really want to go there-- good interview, though
Recs: considering I never read mine, I'd assume they're pretty good... history, physics (2), violin, and counselor recs
Hook (if any): hehe, absolutely none.
Location/Person:
State or Country: NJ
School Type: private all-girls
Gender: F
why you think you were rejected: erm, it was hard to write a "why" essay for a school i didnt want to attend. besides, there are lots of applicants out there, and I probably just didn't stand out.

yeah, well, this is my only rejection so far (out of nine letters), so don't y'all dare feel sorry for me. good luck to everyone who has yet to hear, and rejection really isnt that devastating, so just stay chill and keep the hope alive!

International here
Waitlisted...along with Williams
Oh well, at least I haven't been rejected yet

sweetbee03-- yea i was waitlisted at both today too.. and sempitern- i ditto your feelings... i'm thrilled to have gotten into duke!

so who's staying on the waitlist? i'm undecided..

I got in! I think I'm going to go visit next week. I can't wait!

Congratulations, Marlgirl.

I think everyone is getting geared up for the annual "Screw Your Roomate". It's not quite as bad as it sounds! Everyone on campus hooks up their roommate with a blind date. The roomate is only told the "theme" for a costume they have to wear and they discover their blind date in one huge all-campus gathering by matching up their theme costumes. The more hilarious you can make it for your roommate, the better.
