RD Decisions?

When does Haverford release decisions and where/how?

Thank you.

Haverford mails their decisions, and they stated on twitter that they expect them to be mailed tomorrow, March 25th. Depending on where you live, you should get the decision within the next week. For early decision they also emailed the decisions; however, they usually just send them in the mail. I hope this was helpful, and best of luck!

Haverford is my top choice. So nervous! Good luck everyone!

@thatscienceguy Where on their twitter does it say that they’re mailing today?

@regularasian I actually called them and they said they were mailing letters today. Good luck!

Will they also e-mail the decision? I’m an international student and it seems that last year intl students were notified by email.

International students are usually notified by e-mail, but I don’t know when. I assume you will find out either today or tomorrow. Also here is the tweet:

They just tweeted this as well:

A friend’s daughter was just accepted at Bryn Mawr. They released on the portal this afternoon. We have another friend waiting on Swarthmore. It is too bad that the ‘consortium’ did not release today as a whole via online portals or email.

Anyone know whether the decisions are sent by regular mail or priority mail?

Yes Bryn Mawr released on the portal and also mailed letters. I hope its priority mail @tanboyrunfast I can’t wait any longer!!!

Runfast - I think my son would have paid extra for express mail!

Son just got on wait-list for Haverford in the mail today, but got “early write” accepted to Swarthmore in early March. That was crazy how my son was valued as “gold” at one college, and “coal” at Haverford. He probably did not write a good “honor” essay for Haverford. Lottery anyone?

Oh well, life goes on. He will be happy at Swarthmore.

@Frank95 I don’t think any school views students as “coal.” Different colleges are looking for different things, so it is hard to understand all of their admissions decisions. It is nothing to fret over, especially since he has already been accepted to a great school. I wish your son all the best. Good luck to everyone else!

@Frank95 just curious what state do you live in. I’m in NY and we have nothing

Sorry, I’ve been lurking for a while and haven’t chimed in. @Frank95, I’m sorry that your son was waitlisted. I am positive that no school would ever regard any of their applicants as “coal.” However, when admissions come to be incredibly selective, and students of an exceptionally high caliber are competing for the same few spots available, admissions can appear to be very subjective. Haverford, in particular, places a high importance on “fit,” so even though a student’s test scores, grades, and extracurricular activities may seem to be right on target, other factors are clearly also at play.

Many congratulations to your son on Swarthmore, though! It is an amazing school, and he’ll definitely have a really great experience.

As for those of you who applied Regular Decision, best of luck!!!

Rejected :frowning: Haverford was my top choice.

No news here in Maryland.

Brannn, I lived about 1 hour from Haverford in Pennsylvania. I believed that my son did not come across in his application to Haverford, although he did better to Swarthmore. That was the difference. Same student, but he is first round draft at Swarthmore and waiting list at Haverford. Congratulations to those who get accepted. Haverford is a good college.

I’ve just been accepted  Since I’m an international student I received an email prior to getting a letter (though they say it’s to come next week). Do you know when and where do I find out about the FA? Do you think it will come with the letter via mail?
