Should I bother for Aerospace Engineering Regular Decision or is my GPA way too low?
Will they consider my circumstance?
Thanks

I think you could still have a chance. The GPA really lowers your chances, but besides that it looks great. No harm in trying, except $70.

can’t believe you got a 790 in math IIC with those stats … lol.

You should definitely try applying

You read like the real deal. Apply.

Thanks for the input guys,
lol @ anbu - I know, its really embarrasing, but something keeps happening when I test everytime lol

Why on earth would anyone with a 790 on Math II bother retaking it?

You have better things to do with your Saturday morning. Like sleeping.

Your test scores are not a problem in any event. Your GPA might be, and the GC’s explanation will be useful. Cornell admissions people explicitly say that they value GPA over test scores, and they seem to mean it.

Lol i know i shouldn’t really retake, but if I don’t get an 800 it feels like I failed, maybe I should try studying =)

I hope that they see that my circumstances destroyed my GPA in many ways, because it really did.
Thanks for the input

I don’t know if I would emphasize the reason behind the “low” GPA. It didn’t seem to affect your SATIIs. Your scores are pretty perfect. I think you’ll just end up looking silly for taking them again - Cornell wants them all sent, right?

Don’t retake your SAT II’s. It makes you look “desperate” in a way. Just stick with the scores you already have and you’ll be in pretty good shape despite your GPA. As long as you have solid essays and EC’s, a below average GPA won’t hurt you too much. And don’t bother retaking the SAT either. It’s not worth it I’m telling you…

if you retake the SAT with those scores you will probably go down. Missing one math question will cut you 20 points or so. You dont need to worry about the SATI writing score either. Cornell isnt going to look at that. especially for your major.

Thanks for the input guys, If Cornell doesn’t look at writing for my major, then I guess I’ll send them in now, thanks.
