RD Notification Date!

that is very weird my friend got hers on the 30th and in on a topic on this forum is the letter that someone got last year stating they will be up on the 28th

ill call in a few hours and let you guys know

Thanks, that would be appreciated...

I phoned around 11 am. Admissions is still saying (to me anyway) decisions will be mailed first week of April.

Great, thanks....

sorry for being 4 hours late. i spoke to them and got the same response as just written sometime next week.

i wouldn't really trust them because last yr it was the same and they came out earlier.

what? sometime next week is so bad!

i need the decision now :D

Yeah
a NU student told that the decision would be released in a week like u guys were told.

i still have my fingers crossed for early results though.

sorry to voice my opinion but im a little bit upset at NU. If what they are telling us about next week is true, than why did i follow my deadlines. We are suppose to know from a college by April 1st. I did my part on time and i really expect them to do theirs on time. For some this is not a problem but for me it is. When i have to visit a few colleges and only have a few certain dates to do so, I cant just wait around till the last minute to plan.
Hopefully they will be released sometime before Sunday.

"We are suppose to know from a college by April 1st"

No, that is not among the rights of college applicants.

I think next week will be fine as long as they post the results online

There are many, many kids at my school still waiting to hear from colleges so Northwestern isn't any different in their release of acceptances than lots of other schools. It's just killer to wait.

I really think they will post on line, probably on the day they mail the decisions. That's what they did for ED and I don't know why RD would be any different.

I have to agree with joshuars. Choosing a college is a decision that will most likely affect the next 4 yrs of our lives. NU needs to realize that we need as much time to decide as possible especially since most of us have to plan visits, etc.

sorry i was under the impression its by april 1st. i think it was mentioned to me and my classmates in junior year. anyways as odin64x stated its just pushing us to the limit and we need as much time as we can have.

I too agree with joshuars, maybe with a bit less strident language. In my opinion, Stanford is doing this correctly. They have stated in advance when the decisions will be available on line. They say Friday after 3 Pacific time. That works for me. It's before April 1 and we know it will be before April 1, so we know we will have the weekend to make travel plans for the month of April. With Northwestern, and U. Chicago, we don't know when we will be able to make those plans. They could help us greatly be getting on board with the Stanford method. I am sure they have an internal target date for getting the decisions out. They should announce it. Or, if they fear technical glitches, mailroom glitches, etc., they should add one day and announce it. End of business Friday, March 30th, seems perfectly reasonable. My guess is that the internal target is today, or maybe tomorrow, so we probably will know by tomorrow afternoon anyway, but it would be nice to know that and would have been nice to know that for the last few days. Big benefit to us, little cost or inconvenience to them, so do it.

ok... this whole- getting rejected from EVERYWHERE ELSE thing is making me mad... NU needs to just PUT UP DECISIONS
!!

yeah im furious with them. they are my last hope and they pull this. i dont know why they cant be normal like everyone else.

wintersilk: last year they did post their decisions online for RD as well

well hopefully because they're taking their sweet time, it means they are fully reviewing every application through and through. i'm still unbelievably nervous

This is just ridiculous, almost all (if not all) of NW's peer schools have released decisions by now. I'm guessing yield might go down because of this.
