Karl Marks,

That's the stress talking. You say that now, but honestly, when you receive your decision tomorrow (or whenever), it will all be over, and you'll be able to make a decision.

NU's yield is not going to go down because they released their decisions a day after everybody else. Now, if they released them on April 20, that would be a different story, but that's not the case. Everybody will still have the month to make a decision.

Does anyone have a definite date? I'm kind of ****ed at NU, not only for taking so long, but not posting a date that I can look forward to. Really curious what my last decision will be.

yes, its not releasing the date that is more annoying.

I heard a rumor that RD people would be finding out on Saturday...i have no credible source for this...just what I heard.
Good luck to everyone!

I've also heard that it was going to be Tuesday, Wednesday or today.....

Someone's told me that things were mailed today in an effort for us to receive them by Saturday, which would explain why people have heard about Saturday.

Whatever the date may be, all I know is that I've lost sleep all week. Finding out where you'll be living for the next four years is really nerve-racking! :x G'luck to everyone out there :)

Well for the first time in my short life I agree with anything someone by the name of Karl Marx would say. It sucks. There is no reason why they should not release these results sooner. It is annoying and turns people off. it would really have to be a dream school for someone to keep on waiting like this.

What was my school thinking, giving me spring break the week college acceptances are supposed to come out? All I do all day is hover around the mailbox, even though it usually doesn't come to 4:30.

you know just like moviebuff said it turned me off. i already have started to decide. They play these games. its not a joke. you know what would happen if i did this to them and sent my notification in may 3rd. they would not allow it.

I understand the frustration and anxiety but why do you think they are "playing games?" What good would be served by that?

I wish Laura R would comment on this concern. It sounds like it's a problem that needs to be addressed at the administrative level. It would be a shame for NU to lose some great candidates due to their notification style.

What is the best way to get this feedback to them to consider for next year?

Good luck to all.

i mean its a game in the sense they wont tell us the truth. people are posting different dates and everything.

i say whoever gets in writes them a letter.

half of us have been rejected from every other school this is our last school now.

i have 2 weeks of vacation...i am not sitting here for much longer. lol

ugh.

I agree with you that something must be done. Please don't give up the ship. It will be any day now and you sound like someone who'd be a great fit. The waiting is maddening. Good luck joshuars. I hope you hear in the next day or two.

I wonder if the adcoms are hoping the kids who have ivy acceptances will call/email them, so they can eliminate their apps from consideration. That would be nice, don't you think?

Seriously though, NU's definitely going to lose a no. of candidates who would have otherwise gone there. :) Most people will have already decided by the time their decisions come.

that is good in a way :)

wintersilk
heh thanks man.

you know im up in chicago every year since my cousins live there. ive been to northwestern 2 times, but Evanston every year. everyone in school thinks its where i belong. i have a slightly big choice to make...if i even get in. ughh.

Nu is the only school i am waiting for now and i like it the most so i am quite nervous now especially while hearing all the rumors about the decision date. This feeling really sucks!

remember that rumors are only rumors and aren't ever worth much, other than causing a person great anxiety.

NU can't be too far out of the mainstream on their dates or they really would have a huge problem when it comes to attracting qualified students. I suspect they didn't want to be pinned down to a specific date, esp. because of the large applicant pool this year. I agree though that they'd be well served to simply post something. "You will be able to access the decision online no later than ____." or something to that effect.

As I wrote in a previous post, many kids at my school are still waiting to hear and have April 1st deadlines in their heads, real or imagined. That is a few days away. I don't know, but I suspect you will know by Monday and I hope it's positive news.

I just tried to call them and got one of those funny out of order busy signals. So I called the general NU phone number and asked to be transferred to undergraduate admissions and still got that funny beep-beep-beep.
