Hey i just got a message from an alumni i suppose (since it says the alumi. name and company they work for) an wondering is the normal for admission to Brown University. I applied there and i never heard from others this is the case. Could any present Brown students or any others describe this to me, and what i should expect from an Alumni interview? THXS

I just got my appointment today too, and it's with a (fairly young-sounding) alumnus.

Sucks, though, because I have to go into the middle of Boston, which is a wee bit inconvenient just for an interview.

Have you read through this thread yet? It has lots of information regarding alumni interviews: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/246098-thread-college-interviews.html

yea got a brown interview request today too.

i got one too-- does everyone get an interview request?

No, alumni inteviewing schools use networks of volunteers. Some areas are served by more volunteers than others. I never got a Brown interview but was accepted anyways. I now interview for my HYP alma mater in a lg metropolitan area. Our group does a good job although I understand that some other areas have fewer alumni interviewers so not all kids in those areas get asked.
