Re-admissions to a 4 year school

I am really hoping I can find my answer here. I started attending a 4 year university in the fall of 2016. My first semester I got a 1.0 gpa and my second semester I was able to “bump” it to a 1.7. At the end of the semester I was on academic probation but not suspension. I returned home from the summer and like most idiot males, I met a girl. I was convinced she was the one and withdrew from the university so I could be with here. I took some classes at a local CC and didnt get good grades. Cumulative there was maybe a .8 (was working full time, with her, and other family commitments). Here I am, a year and a half later, relationshipless, screwed education history, and completely lost. I re-applied to the 4 year school but I did not add any off the CC transcripts. I know it would only make my case worse. It’s been a rough time and I want to get back to what I started. I am wondering if they will notice that I went somewhere else while not attending the school. I just want to be able to start back where I was and finish what I started. Will this be possible or will they see that I attended a CC and just deny re-entry?

Thanks for any help, and I’m sorry if this is in the wrong section. I made an account to ask this because this seemed like a more specific issue. Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I think that you need to be honest with the university that you applied to. Call their admissions department and ask them. Schools in the US, and in most of the world, have heard of this “Internet” thing, can share information, and know how to find out where you have attended over the years.

To me it seems likely that your best bet at this point might be to take a few more courses at community college, and take your courses very seriously. Attend all classes. Sit near the front (in the front row if possible) and always pay attention. Do all of your homework and whenever possible do it well before it is due – preferably start your homework the day that it is assigned. If you can string together a couple of semesters of mostly A’s at the community college, then your application to return to university is going to look a LOT stronger.
