Re applying to a school you were wait listed at. Do your chances improve?

Hi guys,

I'm a freshman at another University at the moment. I do like the school that I currently attend but it's very hard to get involved since I commute my commute is about an hour and a half each day. If I wanted to live on campus it would be about $13000 per year in student loans which I'm not going for. If I decide not too then I'm going to miss out on most of the "college experience." I applied to Colgate last year but I got wait listed. I sent them emails talking about how much I would like to go the school but I never got in. If I applied after 1 semester and showed them great improvement how good would my chances be of getting a spot?

The applications are typically viewed simply by their own merits. It’s not likely that having been wait listed previously will either improve or hurt your chances. If you’ve shown improvement after this semester, then it will make your application stronger. That much is for sure.
