Thank you :) I do have safety schools that I am applying to btw.

are you a URM? I'd really try to get those sat scores up (although your act is better)

As posted above, I'm pretty sure "white" isn't an URM :p
My ACT converts to 2040 which seems decent, if not low.
Although I take AP English, I'm more of a math science student, and it tends to show on tests. Such as a 34 in Math ACT but a 29 in English =/

if u can get ur SAT's up then u have avery nice shot. but with ur current scores u have a shot, but its very iffy. good luck though :)

Thank you :) I'm hoping my ACT will make up for it. And i'm crossing my fingers for amazing SATIIs :)

More looking at what people think chances are at the ivys vs the others..

I think you're in at the University of Michigan and Carnegie Mellon, but probably not the others. Some advice: apply to U of M as early as possible, around September. They have rolling admissions, and I know someone who got into Princeton and waitlisted at Michigan simply because he applied close to the February deadline.

they have rolling admissions? i thought it was like EA only?

Yes, they have an early-notification deadline, but after that it's rolling. My advice is just to make that deadline or apply soon after. My friend who applied in February didn't hear back until mid-April, and he was waitlisted.

Get that app completed to Michigan by mid September and you should get in by December (assuming essays and recs are in line). Just submit the ACT to Michigan because a 31 is more than enough to get in. If money is not a concern then apply to your top choice among the other colleges ED. ED at Penn will give you a big leg up because the admit rate is twice that of the RD admit rate. If you have any questions about Penn (or even Michigan and Cornell because many of my close friends go there) feel free to PM me.

As they have essay topics up now, I have started to right them. The questions actually suit me well, since I do a lot of community projects that I could use :)
I'll apply as soon as I get my recs in September :)

Money, however, is an issue. Therefore, I can't apply ED anywhere, as much as I would love to ED Penn. I'll be sure to pm you :)

bump!
SAT2s: 740 Math2
640 Physics
650 US

Not great. Math's okay. I figured the satIIs couldn't hurt right? .. or did they -.-

You have a great gpa and class rank as well as ec's so that does help a lot. Are you taking the ACT's or SAT's again? It would definitely help to bring up those scores. Obviously, your satII math was great but physics and us are not real impressive.

Keep working at it all and as others have said, apply as early as you can.

Good luck!!
