Re-Take SATs?

Is re-taking the SATs a measure generally recommended for possible transfer applicants?

I'm a freshman in college. I last took the SATs the spring of my junior year in high school. I don't like the idea of having to think about that test again. Should I retake, just to see what happens?

What was your score, and what are the average scores of incoming freshmen at the institution you want to transfer to?

If there's a major disparity, you might want to retake.

i essentially refuse to take those damn tests again. i think of it this way... hopefully my college GPA will show what the sat/act is supposed to show, which is how much we would know when we get to college. so, if my college gpa was, say 3.9, and i went to a college known for academics,, and i took harder courses my freshman year, then i would think that the admissions people would see that i could obviously do well in college. make sense?

True actionrunner, if you're good enough for a top 20 LAC and are getting a 3.9, then yeah.

But, if you go to a no-name LAC in the middle of nowhere or Podunk U and you're trying to transfer up, those improved scores might be really helpful.
