Re-taking an AP

Junior year, I took an AP in a course which my school did not offer an 'AP Class' for (only provided an 'Honors' class), and I subsequently received a 3 as I only had learned about half the material on the exam.

I figure that I can self study what I still need to learn and receive a better score senior year so that I can use it to waive a requirement in college.

Are you allowed to take an AP exam which you have already taken?

I think so, they don't mind taking your $83. I'd check college board, though.

From the CB: "You can take an AP Exam each time it is offered (AP Exams are offered once a year in May). Your grade report will include your grades for all the AP Exams you have taken, including yearly "repeats" of the same subject exam."

Good thinking...
