Re-taking SAT worthwhile?

<p>I'm in my second year of college and want to transfer. The liberal art colleges I'm interested in are definitely more selective than the art school
I currently attend, and although many schools say they look much closer at essays, extra-curriculars, and courses taken than grades and test scores, I feel like it really couldn't hurt to have a higher score (I took the SAT once in high school- v760 m590 w590- and right in the middle of a super difficult time in my life, I know I could improve the overall score).</p>

<p>I finally decided to re-take the test, but just read somewhere in CC that schools probably wouldn't take SAT scores taken as a sophomore or junior in college. Can anyone confirm, debunk, or expand on this in any way?</p>

<p>I really have no idea at this moment. I think the importance of SAT will decrease as you are going to higher level in your college life. But anyway, if you get a 2300+ SAT, that will always help!!</p>
