Reading and Composition Requirements

Hi,
Is it possible to sign up for English R1B to fulfill the second half of the Reading and Composition requirement without having taken the English R1A?
I was originally planning on taking Classic R44, however, there are some scheduling conflicts.
The prerequisites stipulate taking English 1A or an equivalent course, and I was wondering if a 4 on the AP Literature exam qualifies as an equivalent course.

Furthermore, since AP scores have not come out yet, I was wondering if I could even sign up for English R1B, as I don’t know if I can waive the first half of the Reading and Composition requirement yet. Any help on that front?

Yes, if you earn that AP score, you can take an R&C B course without taking an R&C A course.
