I have been reading new york times and most prominent novels (Great Gatsby, lord of the flies, 1984,animal farm,Growth of the soil) since September but i don't see results.Still I make around 8 mistakes per section in CR.

I guess i have been reading not-appropriately.

How should i read?

Lets imagine i am reading a passage in Economist. How should i read for maximum effect?

Although reading those novels will help you to gain knowledge on sentence structure and strengthen your vocabulary, it won’t help much with enhancing your CR skills. I’d advise you to do lots of SAT practice questions. It will help much more than just reading, especially fiction.

Well keep trying! Don’t give up! There’s lots of useful tricks on CC as well.

If you understand WHY you’re getting them wrong, strengthen your skills in that area. If you don’t know why, then you should take a test and see what types of questions you’re getting wrong, whether it be vocabulary or what not.
