Hi, this is a real quick question…
How intensely reading and writing are done in Mount Holyoke College? Or maybe in general LAC?
If it is too broad or vague question, compared to a public(State) university, do LACs focus a lot more in reading and writing abilities?
Thank you really much in advance for those of who would answer this for me!
USNWR has a category that relates to the writing part of your question. The list includes five private universities, three public universities and two LACs:
Writing in the Disciplines
These colleges typically make writing a priority at all levels of instruction and across the curriculum. Students are encouraged to produce and refine various forms of writing for a range of audiences in different disciplines.
Brown
Carleton

George Mason

Princeton
U of California-Davis
Washington State
If you have any concerns, know that learning to write better – and even quickly – will not be as hard as you imagine it to be.
It may also be easier to practice and improve writing at a college where writing practice is incorporated into the study of various subjects, unlike in high school, where writing instruction is mainly bundled with literary analysis in English courses. Students whose strengths and interests are in some area other than literary analysis may find writing practice in subjects of their strengths and interests to be more enjoyable, and may improve more in those contexts.
There is a speaking, arguing and writing program at the Weissman Center for Leadership at Mount Holyoke. Writing is typically emphasized in every class. The objective of the Weismann Center is that every graduate should be able to write persuasively and orally present to groups and defend positions in a critical manner.
