Real Deal on Penn Campus Safety?

I know this is hotly contested and I also know that Philadelphia as a city has done a poor job in general of handling rising crime rates. But, I was wondering how safe (or unsafe) current students/alums/Philly residents felt on campus and in the surrounding vicinity? I've heard everything from it's no issue at all to it's a huge issue and as I consider what comes next, I'd like to be informed.

Thanks and All the Best,
Fred

Are you a drug dealer? A gang member? Do you play dice in the street on weekends? Do you owe anybody named "Otis" or "8-Ball" money? Do you think it's a good idea to walk around West Philly at 3 AM by yourself?

Said "no" to all of those? Good. You'll be safe.

Bumpbumpbump

lol. crap, i think I owe a guy named Otis a dollar or something... hes my friend though.

nodnard, does that count?

I often ride in elevators named Otis--is that a problem?
