REAL questions about GALLATIN(non-gal students read too, please)

Alright. I know what Gallatin does. I'm past the point of the silly invite-before-the-acceptance-letter phase.

Now I'm really hunkering down to know what Gallatin is all about.

Here's my concern:

I want to be pre-med and fine art(or animation, depending). Obviously, these aren't the classes that are much offered at Gallatin, and require me to take them at the other schools.

Now I KNOW(and I've read about 15 times) that Gallatin is all great on letting you take classes at the other schools but how do these outside schools reply to you?
Specific questions:

-Will CAS be obnoxious to me when it comes to taking hardcore science and physics classes? Will they shut me out because I'm not at that school, even though the classes there are surely required by my aspirations?

-The same goes for the major art school at NYU. Now, I'll have my portfolio with me, and I've gone through the AP port for two years, so I can prove I'm qualified if need be(besides, I'm hoping to skip some intro to drawing and painting classes). Problems here?

-Also, where do Gallatin students room? Random, but no one has seemed to address this.

-What are the advisors really like? Do they help freshman? How?

Thanks for answers, sorry for spelling mistakes, and good luck to the class of 2010.

All undergrads room together. No segregation by school.

I don't know any pre-med Gallatin people off the top of my head. You should consider asking a Gallatin advisor about it.

That being said, advising at NYU might be tricky at times. I've had only positive experiences, but I've heard people complain. I suggest you read the info the school's got online which is pretty accurate, and then call if you have any more questions.

Thanks
And by the way, that's a wonderful book(your name, obviously). Thought it was far better than the sabriel series, but then again, I'm a sucker for dystopia and zombie or zombie-like entities.

It is indeed a good book. I didn't read the Sabriel series - can't remember why. I read Shade's Children a long long time ago, and when I started using the Internet, it was the first "cool" username I could think of. Years later, I've practically forgotten what it really means, until people like you remind me. :D
