Real World

I am currently attending a community college in upstate NY and will be transferring in the fall in hopes to attend a great business school with both prestige and high recruitment. I am looking into: Syracuse UCLA UMiami Purdue Boston College Cornell USC those I feel are my matches and/or safeties. Which of those do you feel encompasses both the recruitment and prestige the most???? Thank You

I am also keeping in mind my reaches such as: NYU Penn and UNC-chapel but I'm not sure if theyre too far-fetched with a 3.7 GPA and 1120 old SAT, what do you think????

umm first of all change your list .... BC(reach), UCLA(reach), Umiami(match), Purdue(safety), USC not 100%sure but im gonna say reach, ive heard syracuse biz is really hard to get into but im not sure how hard, NYU is a reach but you have a chance, Penn (super reach), Cornell(super reach), UNC(reach)... umm add IU-bloomington to your list for a safety but im not sure if you qualify for direct entry into biz at IU it requires top 10% of class plus some kind of sat score but im not sure what

Your current grades will also be a factor. I've seen 4.0 Community College kids with mediocre hs records do well when transferring. And you have a strong hs gpa, so your current record should have a leveraging effect.

What is your community college GPA?

My highschool GPA was 3.7 and for college I currently have a 3.45 but by the end of the semester I should be up to 3.6 or 3.7.

Thank you Terry

i also think UCLA may be a reach for you. it is difficult to get in from out-of-state, and the average GPA for admitted transfers majoring in business-economics was 3.79. btw, UCLA doesn't have an undergraduate business program but rather a business-economics program.

drop everything and get your CC GPA up to 3.7.
