Realistic chances at Notre Dame

I am a senior from NY. SAT score of 1520 and ACT of 34. GPA of 104.77 with all honors classes with as many AP’s as my school has. A lot of music activities- Jazz band, percussion ensemble, pit orchestra, accompanist of choir, 3 area youth orchestras and 2 solo festival finalists. I also work 15 hours a week. I am worried Notre Dame is getting too selective for me- am I just paranoid?

Here is the class profile. http://admissions.nd.edu/apply/admission-statistics/
Your academics make you a viable candidate. Work hard on your application and especially the ND supplements.

I think your academics look good too. With your ECs, if you do anything other than music activities - especially volunteer work - be sure to note that so that you show some breadth of experience. Also highlight any leadership positions you hold/have held. And any groups that involve leadership training. Lastly, spend a lot of time on the essays. Notre Dame is full of students with high scores, high GPAs, high ranks and great ECs. The essays help to distinguish you from the pack. Good luck!

Update: got a 1550 on the October sat!!

Would you be interested in a music major? My son is double majoring in vocal performance and another undecided course of study in Arts and Letters. (Philosophy? Political Science?) Anyway, knowing that he was going to double major, he applied for a scholarship to the department of music. He was accepted EA, and also received a small music scholarship. His admissions counselor told him that his music resume really helped set him apart from other applicants.

My son had almost the identical scores as yours. He also had leadership experience through student council and held offices in a couple of his clubs.

ND is an amazing school. He is loving it.

Good luck and congrats on all of your accomplishments.

@Momx2boys Yes I would be interested in a double major. I certainly was considering sending in a portfolio…
