really bad situation

Hi Im currently a senior in New Jersey. I applied to NB about 2 weeks ago. Right now I am in a very bad situation because I really ****** up this marking period. What happened was in the beginning of the year I took 1 AP in environmental science. I was getting a high B in it but I also wanted to challenge myself a little more. So i switched into Ap world history and Ap Literature pretty late. The only thing is now I got a C in all three classes for the first marking period. I know that I can do well in these classes because of a fresh marking period but I am not sure how Rutgers will look at this. Also, should I drop one of them because I want to look decent by mid year. Lastly, Environmental science was suppossed to be a major but I am not sure what to do now. Will this hurt my chances a lot? Any responses are greatly appreciated.

In our school, only semester grades are reported so one mp isn’t going to screw everything up. Does it look like you can bring things up or is it beyond that? Ck with your GC who should be clued into what Rutgers would think, I hope!

well the only thing I noticed was that AP literature is rather hard. Actually its really hard for me at least. But i was thinking of dropping it to take Honors British Literature but I am not sure how that would look

I might be wrong, but Rutgers only looks at your grades through the end of junior year when they review your application. However, that’s a different story if you get in and you have to send in your actual transcript during June through July (I think)after you plan on enrolling. So I wouldn’t worry too much about it and just raise your grades up with the remaining MPs and Midterms/Finals.

alright thanks. Makes me feel a lot better.

Rutgers looks at the final grades not the mid-year grades…so try to bump your grades for the remaining marking periods…if you plan on dropping your courses you will need to consult with ur guidance counselor and see if that is the best option…RU counselors will not give any advice on dropping/keeping a course…its up to u and ur counselor but if u do drop the course always email the admissions office and tell them of the change…coz any discrepancy found on ur final HS transcript and SRAR is grounds for rescinding your app.
