I used to be number one in my class until I got 3 B's (two 89's on a 10pt scale) my junior year and now I'm like number four. A lot of people who I know aren't working as hard as I am (they're taking dual enrollment and honors classes and I'm taking harder AP's) are ahead of me. I don't wanna sound conceded but I'm really bitter about how great everyone thinks they are because of their higher rank and they think that determines how good in school they are. But I don't agree with that at all.

You’re complaint about dropping three places? How about in my school I got one B and I got tossed down 6 spaces. It’s not as bad as you think it is. Plus, dual enrollment isn’t a cakewalk either. It’s a college class.

Just keep the frades up and there wont be anything to be bitter about… Consider yourself lucky! I’m only in the top 20% out of like 1100 students…

Dual enrollment at my school is not as hard as AP. I’ve taken all the DE except US history and AP was definitely harder lol

You’ve taken every college class needed for your AA? Or maybe your school does it differently.

At my school AP is also harder than dual enrollment. I would be pretty angry if I were you too.

When I went to a regular high school that had class rank, all the people who were taking the advanced classes took them together, so your grades were really what determined your rank. The honors classes we had were pre-reqs for APs as well.

If I got three B’s I’d drop into top 20. Heck if I took 3 honors classes rather then AP I’d be top 20 consider yourself lucky and use this as motivation for the future.

It’s just a number. If colleges question you about why you dropped in rank, then give the explanation you gave us.

That’s honestly not bad at all. I got one B+ and I went from number 1 to 11. There’s nothing you can do about it now though. Just make sure from now on you don’t let your grades slip if you’re that concerned about rank.

A friend of mine at one of the top public schools in the US got a B in an 8th grade class that went on her high school transcript… She made all As, other than that. She was only in the 92nd percentile of her class going into her senior year… So stop whining!

I could understand being bitter if the people who surpassed you in rank are cheaters… There are two boys (brothers, twins actually) and one girl (their best friend) who all cheat off of each other, and are at the top of the class… I’m a slacker and nowhere near the top of my class, so I don’t care. But, if that’s the situation for you, I can definitely understand being bitter!

You don’t deserve to be number one if you can’t spell conceited correctly.

I posted this from my phone and didn’t bother to spell/grammar check for any errors. **** happens.

I hate that, when people jump to judgements when they don’t know anything about the person they’re judging.

That’s just another thing I’m bitter about lol sorry

Haha I can understand why you’d be annoyed with that. People on CC love to let posters know they’ve misspelt something in smart aleck ways. Unless they’ve done so repeatedly within a post, people shouldn’t assume that the poster is a bad speller or has bad grammar. Typos and auto corrects happen.

Lol at the OP complaining like someone did something to him. Maybe they’re just smarter than you, and you’re the only one who doesn’t see it…yet.

Consider yourself lucky. At my high school, a girl in the top ten got a B- in one of her classes and she got knocked down 9 spots.

It’s only rank in hs. Losing three slots isn’t a big deal at all. If you’d gotten an A you wouldn’t have lost those spots. It’s a rather petty thing to complain about IMO.

That said, colleges look at rigor as well as rank. Getting a 4.0 with an easier schedule isn’t as impressive as a 3.9 with a difficult schedule.

Why do people on CC feel the need to mock and make people feel bad?

It’s not a need to mock. You posted on CC and people are offering you their opinions. If you don’t want opinions then you shouldn’t post on a public forum ranting about how you’re better than people who bumped you.

There’s more to life than rank in hs. Being bitter about a few spots in hs is nothing in the long run.

Get a life

If you don’t agree with it, why do you care so much about being #1 or dropping 3 places?

IMO, OP you may be overreacting just a wee bit considering the situation
