Hey so it's always been a dream of mine to get into New York University but there has been so much going on for me this year (junior year) that my chances might be gone.

Gpa: 3.26
Sat: 2060 but I took it again and will update with the new score. I feel like I did much better.
Legacy : uncle and cousin attended nyu (uncle for graduate school)
Extra curriculars:
- much volunteer work in India with education systems and schools
-volunteer at a science center (like a museum) 100+ hours
-key club and breast cancer charity for a year
-exec leader(secretary) of French honors society
-red cross for a year
-odyssey of the mind (many awards)
-soup kitchen volunteer for the past 4 years
-attended a special art school for two years. (Sponsored by my high school)
-have won two awards in first place for art
-winner of piano competitions and currently at the highest level of mastery of the piano
-member of science league

I also would apply early decision to NYU.

Also, recommendations will not be a problem and I had a major surgery this year and had to stay out of school for a very long time on and off (why my gpa completely sucks) and my guidance counseler said he can send an email explaining this situation to th school.

I hope to apply to the department of arts and sciences .. Also are there any other suggestions of how I can increase my chances(I have an upper hand in writing with a perfect score on the sat essay and 780 in writing altogether, the application essay should be fine. ) or any other schools you can suggest?

My sister attends Georgetown and I have a triple legacy at Vanderbilt.

Please help guys is NYU possible?
