Well I am coming to the end of the road with my CC here next fall and I am looking to Transfer. My question is how heavy will my high school grades weight on my acceptance ? I currently have a 3.6 from my CC. I fell into it with the wrong crowd in high school and lettered in two sports where one of my coaches worked out an arrangements with my teachers to allow me to workout during their classes. Well I ended up graduating with a 2.4 GPA from high school and I joined the Air Force for four years.

I am now at a local cc and I have a 3.6 GPA and I really want to transfer to Cornell or Vanderbilt but would my high school GPA really hurt my chances. I heard about a guy that got into Cornell that went to a CC with a GED and still got accepted but I am worried. I have a bunch of volunteer hours and the president of the black student union at my local cc. I have really matured in the 8 years since my high school graduation. I have a abundance of leadership experience from the military. I really feel I can be a great asset to any school that picks me I just need the opportunity.
