I only scored a 1640 on my SAT, which I'm extremely disappointed about. I do not do well on SAT tests, I get really nervous. I did graduate with Cum Laude honors in high school and now have a 4.0 currently in college. I'm pretty sure I want to do engineering since I live in Texas and it is a very popular field around here. Plus, the salary is great for a bachelor's degree. I would be going to University of Houston, do you think I could still get accepted into engineering there?

I would suggest comparing your math score to the average math score of engineering students you want to attend with. Also, keep in mind what math courses they will have completed, and what math YOU will have completed when you take classes with them. After all; it’s not just getting in, it is STAYING in, and passing with a reasonable GPA, and those math phenoms can bust a curve!

I have no personal experience other than as a parent.

If you are a transfer student with enough college credits, then it is likely that your high school record and test scores are irrelevant for admission. But check each college’s web site for its policy on transfer admission.
