Hey, I'm a senior living in NJ and I've applied to Rutgers, NJIT, and Drexel. I've moved freshman year, sophomore year, and junior year to different places. I did ok freshman and sophomore year but I really did horrible junior year. Overall my cumulative weighted GPA is a 2.57(I know, it's bad), and I took the SAT twice(first time 1680, second time 1850). I applied pretty late because I just had no drive whatsoever. If all these colleges were to review my application at THIS POINT, what would be my chances of getting in? Please help. Also, if you could recommend me some colleges that would accept applications and consider them at this point, please do, I'm scared that I won't get in college and any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you thought about applying to Rowan? It’s a great school and they’re still accepting applications. Check out some of NJ’s other state schools too. Don’t worry, everything’s going to pan out :)

Try Stockton, Montclair, and Ramapo. Good luck!

Depending on your planned major, what’s wrong with boosting your credentials at CC, then transferring? It would demonstrate redemption, increase your value, and save some cash.

The best news is that college isn’t high school. A lot of people who were just OK performers in HS found their way in college and ended as star students. Of course, there’s a few that have gone in the tank. You sound like more of the former.

Another thing that you can do to increase your stock is to complete the “optional” essay. Share your narrative, but don’t be self-absorbed about it. Paint a picture of what you’d expect to bring to the table and what you’d offer to the college. Good luck.

Look at these schools with 2/1, 2/15, and 3/1 deadlines.

You might want to look into colleges in nearby states like PA and MA that have lots of smaller colleges that would admit you. Although I agree, Ramapo or Rowan sound like good idea. If you like NJIT, NYIT should be no problem as well as some SUNY’s.
