I’m looking at the spring semester, and have been emailing with my advisor. There’s still two math requirements left for my degree, and I’m conflicted.
Last fall I took a math class, and had a lot of trouble. It used the MyMathLab software which I had used before, but it was different. Things were changed to where if you took a test and failed you couldn’t see which answers you got wrong. Whenever I’d ask what I needed to work on I’d be told to go back over everything again, I kept trying that, and after about 30 hours and 10 failed tests I ended up dropping the class. Since then I’ve been a bit worried about taking another math course at the school because I fear the same experience will repat itself.
I know it’s unavoidable, that I’ll have to take those math courses no matter what, but should I put it off a little longer? Right now I fear failing or dropping classes to a point that it affects my GPA and financial aid eligibility. If I wait a little longer it doesn’t seem like the risk would be as high.
Also for the spring semester there’s two classes I’m interested in taking, and they’re both at night, while all the math classes are during the day. So a math class this coming semester would be a little hard for this schedule.
What should I do?
