So I have recently been accepted to FSU and filled out an application for a dorm hours after I got In, March 18 was the day. I filled out the application and when I printed it off I found out my priority number was 5046!! I applied to these dorms:
1. Reynolds Hall
2. Broward Hall
3. Bryan Hall
4. Gilchrist Hall

I'm very afraid that the dorms would be full and I will have nowhere to stay. I thought about moving off-campus but I live in Maine and do not know I single person down there. I have my heart set on FSU right now because it is the best value out of the schools I have been accepted too. Also, is housing guaranteed for Incoming Frosh?

Any advice about my situation would be great.

You will get a dorm room. There will only be 4000 incoming freshman (and some will commute from home or live off campus). Last year, there were numbers almost to 6000--but everyone got a dorm if they wanted one. Why? because of the 6000 priority numbers, there are lots of students who end up going elsewhere--UF, UCF, Miami, LAC.s and out of stat U's. Some signed up for a priority number in Dec, and by March or April got an acceptance elsewhere. There are also students who sign up and get a number, but never actually send in the deposit. Some who were under 18 forgot to send in the parental signatures before the 10 days were up. By May 1st, less than 4000 numbers for incoming freshman will be active.

If you don't get your first 4 choices, when they get to your number, they will still assign you a dorm. Last year, we knew a student who got off the waitlist in mid May, and she still got a dorm room assigned.

3-4 years ago, there were freshman who did not get a dorm room. SInce then, Wildwood opened up--700+ rooms. Then Degraf opened up--700+ rooms. Then they cut freshman enrollment from 5000 to 4000. Now, you will get a dorm room. Hang in there. And if you don't get what you want, fill out a change form. There is still alot of movement after housing is assigned. And check out the living-learning communities. It is a way to get into a more preferred dorm. Hurry and fill out an application if you are interested.

Lol, thats better than my number 5411
