Hello all,

I was looking for some advice and opinions from others. I am working on my second bachelors degree so I've been in school for a while. Everything has been going great, but I ran into some problems with a professor. I've never had a problem quite like this before.

I'll try to keep this short.

First of all the two of us can't seem to communicate with each other. He talks in circles and repeats questions. When someone asks him a class related question he often says that we had already gone over it in class and avoids the question. To make a long story short I stopped by his office to ask a question and while looking at my paper he chuckled at the results section. I asked if had just laughed at my paper and got so frustrated I walked out of his office. I realize this was rude, but I was so upset and didn't know what to do. In all honesty I could have handled this confrontation better but what's done is done.

He called me back and I decided to record the conversation. Afterwards I went to the program director and told him, in gist, what had happened. He told me that there were cultural differences (he is from Africa) and that he had received input from other students about the communication issue.

Now the professor won't even make eye contact with me.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone had advice? Also is this behavior from a teacher acceptable? I recently found out that I may have a class with him next semester :(

Your help is appreciated!

I can try to post the audio if necessary.
