What if someone had a crap gpa-3.5 or 3.7 weighted with 3.0 3.3 unweighted but got 2400 SATS and 36 ACT

what colleges could the person get to, provided if he had enough extracurruclars and other helpful stuff

He or she could get into any college potentially, given oustanding extracurriculars and a good explanation for the grades.

But the ECs would have to be amazing. I would italicize that if I knew how.

Realistically however, most Top 20 schools would be out of reach.

well…they could get into about 96% of all colleges…

but…as far as the colleges everyone talks about on here, you know…your top 100 or so…i’d still say they have a good chance at like 50 of them…

it really depends on what their GPA means…do they go to a hard school and are in the top 5%-then they could still get in anywhere

are they in the top like 20% and go to an easy school-they’re screwed

What if they took all APs/Honors but got screwed over
And it was a top 50 high school

The more specific you get, the less hypothetical it seems.

What turtle said. you could just ask the question outright. We don’t bite. That is unless you ask for help on your homework, then we attack like a mob of angry /b/tards

This student’s best chance would be at state college where high SATs often can help average GPA’s because they use a formulaic approach. Bottom line is that a GPA is almost always the most important part of the application, a 3.0 in honors/APs says you have a full slate of C’s. That will eliminate anthing approaching a top 50 college.

The best bet may be 2 years at a community college and then transfer to a good school.
