really simple recipe suggestions

^ could also toss in some chopped, slightly sauteed garlic too.

ohh I love mashed potatoes. yeah you should slice them in half after peeling and make sure to salt the water first so they absorb it…and then after you drain them, put them back on the stove for like a minute so the excess water will evaporate. then I usually just add milk, whole cream (no butter necessary if you add cream), salt and pepper. garlic sounds like it would be good with it too but i’m usually too lazy. I’m kind of craving sweet potatoes so maybe I’ll try mashed sweet potatoes for lunch tomorrow…with turkey salad, because my roommate went shopping and brought back turkey and chicken cutlets, mmm

keep the suggestions coming and thanks!

… What is turkey salad…?

salad with turkey lol

Jim’s (my girlfriend’s dad) easy chicken: Drumsticks, ritz crackers, salt and pepper, paprika. Crush the ritz crackers, thrown in generous salt, pepper and paprika, cook in oven for 40 minutes at 400 degrees.

Stir fry is easy too. Cut up veggies and meat into bite size pieces, heat up oil. Throw in meat until browned, then throw in soy sauce or what have you, then veggies. Then cook until done.

I steam veggies in the microwave all the time - put fresh broccoli, carrots, spinach, etc in bowl with a tiny bit of water (no water for spinach, but a drizzle of olive oil is nice). Cover with a plate and microwave for a minute (I go a little under for spinach - like 45 sec). Season with salt, pepper, garlic salt, etc. I do this at the dining hall all the time.

Last one, I promise:

“Lazy/I can’t really cook Curry Chicken”:

1-2 cups of yogurt (I like using vanilla because it makes the meal slightly sweet which balances out the spiciness of it, but you can also just use plain yogurt.)

1 tbspn of curry powder

ground pepper (to taste)

cayenne pepper (optional: to taste)

ground onion powder (optional: to taste)

3 tspn Vietnamese cinnamon (or regular ground cinnamon)

salt (to taste)

Mix all of the above in a bowl, alter quantities based on taste.

Chicken wings:
Halve the chicken wings (like how Buffalo wings are cut at the joint)
season them with salt and pepper

slice and cube onions, lightly saute them in olive oil

in a large pan or in a shallow pot, both need lids that fit snuggly.

add additional olive oil (or vegetable oil) to coat the bottom of the pan and then add the chicken wings.
Pour the curry mix on top; you may need to add milk if it’s too thick, and then cover with the lid.

Cook on medium for about 20 minutes, and then you’re done.

Serve with rice.
