Really want to attend UC Davis for Electrical Engineering, but running into one issue

Internships! At the moment I am deciding between CSULB and still waiting for UCI and Cal Poly Pomona to respond. A quick search on INDEED gives a relatively small list of engineering internships compared to the other schools. I’m scared going to UC Davis will make it vary hard to find the major factor in getting a job after graduation. I also don’t want to be forced to intern somewhere and learn skills in a part of an industry I was not interested in due to sheer limited opportunities.
Other than this one issue, I’m in love with Davis. Visited back in February and everything about it was sooo pleasant. I could really feel at home there. Also housing was cheaper and nicer compared to other school areas. If the internship issue wasn’t the case I wouldn’t have applied anywhere else.

On a side note, I’m a CC transfer for MSJC who has been accepted for tag. I also believe financial aid will cover tuition for any school so cost of attendance isn’t an issue.

Can any engineering students provide me with some kind of idea as far their internship experiences go. Thank you!

Many internships around Davis are not posted on large job sites but internally by the Engineering department or the UCD career center or even the campus job fairs.

Seconding what she said. Given Davis’s proximity to Sacramento and Silicon Valley, there are a lot of companies that come recruit for internships. The Internship and Career Center should have a list somewhere of companies who have attended in the past. There’s a usually good mix of large companies like Cisco/HP, mid-sized companies, occasionally some start-ups, state agencies, defense contractors, utility companies…
Specifically for EE’s, Intel recruits out of Davis like crazy for internships for their Folsom campus. Keysight, Micron, and Texas Instruments also end to pick up Davis EE’s.

Thanks for the response! Yeah was hearing similar things about Davis. Unfortuately I ruled it off my list. At if fate planned it, Davis claims to have never received my financial aid (which is really surprising because everyone else did).
Right now its between UCSD(warren), UCI and Cal Poly Pomona.
