So I just found out earlier today that I was rejected from UPenn, which was my first choice. I stupidly decided not to apply ED, which hurt me later in the year due to a awful math teacher and class (especially the grade that I, and most of the class, received). So here is my main question:

I am taking a gap year between highschool and college to try to get a job in the Computer Science field (I already have an internship lined up for a senior project and a job over the summer). This was always the plan, but I had also hoped to get accepted to UPenn. During highschool I had a 4.21 Weighted GPA and a 3.88 Unweighted (top 5-10% of class) and I was awarded the Cum Laude certificate. I got a 33 on the ACT in one sitting, with a 36 M 34 R 32 S 34 E superscored to a 34, as well as a 770 on the SATII Math II (at the end of 10th grade), a 740 on the SATII Chemistry (11th Grade), and a 4 on the AP Computer Science test (11th Grade). I got almost all A's, with 5 A-, 2 B+, and 1 B (AP Calculus BC in senior year). I have taken AP Computer Science (10th Grade), AP Organic Chemistry (11th Grade), AP Physics (12th Grade), and AP Calculus BC (12th Grade). I have also taken Honors Chemistry (10th Grade), and Honors Latin classes until 11th Grade. I also did two Independent Studies learning how to program apps for the Android (11th grade) and for the iPhone (12th grade), during both of which I created an app for the school (basically an interactive map of the campus with information and directions about each room) which are published on their respective stores. I play golf on the Varsity team and this year I was our number 2 player. I have previously had one job and one internship (we were housed in UPenn's main dorms while working in greater Philadelphia). I am a school ambassador. I am the Co-President of our Robotics club (nothing special as the school is very liberal arts oriented). I have worked exclusively with a community service organization since 4th grade, but I stopped because they merged with another organization. Oh, and lastly I am a White Male student applying from Los Angeles, California. That's pretty much everything that I listed on the application, and what I want to know is a) should I try to reapply to UPenn during my gap year and b) if so, how should I tell my other colleges/go about reapplying (gathering the necessary recommendations and high school transcripts).

P.S: Because I had such a hard time in AP Calculus BC, would it be a good idea to try to find some online course from a highschool/college to prove that I know the material?

Any feedback is helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks
