Do you get an advantage if you reapply to some prestigious prep schools? Thanks
I don’t see how you could get an advantage at a place that’s already seen your app and rejected it. If you reapply to schools next year, I’d add some others to your list. I think it’s better to cast a wide net. Are you unhappy with your current acceptances or are you concerned they won’t be affordable?
I’m also wondering why you’d reapply when you were accepted to some very fine schools. Unless some unforeseen circumstances (I.e. family illness, job loss) are keeping you from being able to attend this year. Which, I truly hope is not the case.
Can one get into a school by applying a second time? Yes. Does applying a second (or third) time offer an “advantage?” No.
@buuzn03 @austinmshauri thanks for the concern. I am really really happy with my results, I was just asking for a friend who didn’t get in his top choice (legacy) but got into others, and he’s wondering whether to reapply to legacy school or go to others (he really wants to go to the legacy school but he likes his other options too).
It’s against TOS to ask “for a friend.”
Bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Was the friend waitlisted or rejected from the legacy school?
@ChoatieMom omg I’m so sorry!! Should I delete this or…
@doschicos waitlist. But the school called his parents on the 9th telling them about the waitlist.
I’ll disagree with others and say I think it does help to reapply. I’ve known several reapplicants who were successful on the second try. Try to get some feedback on your app. Ask your AO to tell you what you could improve upon. Persistence is a good trait and does help in most things including BS admissions.
Well, it’s technically not listed in ToS, so I won’t warn. But we do not allow it for privacy reasons. As it is, we get many daily requests from users who want to delete their own posts (which we do not do), that we are not getting into friends not wanting their info posted. If your friend has questions, s/he can open an account to ask.
