Before I say anything else, I know that any decisions I make are just that- my own decisions, but I would appreciate input from others. It won’t make or break my choice, but knowing what others would do in my position would be really helpful.
Last year, I applied to five boarding schools. I was rejected by two and waitlisted by three. This year, I plan to reapply to the three where I was waitlisted. My first choice school, however, was one of the two where I was rejected. If you were in my situation, would you reapply to that school as well, or just the three where I was waitlisted?
What do you have to lose? Reapply. You don’t want to wonder “what if?” Good luck!
There’s definitely no harm in reapplying but just make sure you’ve upped your application and polished it-meaning you’ve identified and changed what could have been a negative in your application whether it was test scores, a lack of ec’s, etc. Also remember that sometimes the school says no because they don’t think that’d you would be a good fit for the school, not limited to just academics but how you would fit in socially among other things. So before you reapply if you choose to do so make sure that you thoroughly review your last application and see what aspects could be polished and then make sure this school really would be a good fit for you. Best.
@mcraisin - did you apply as full pay? This is an important factor it seems
If you were rejected you have a slim chance unless there has been a significant change. Waitlist is more common from what I hear at top schools. Not sure what schools you are looking at.
