If you read a rejection letter from USC, it has a FAQ page supplemented, and the last question states "is it worth trying again next year?" The answer to this says it rarely results in a different decision, followed up by some false words of possible encouragement.
does this mean once your rejected, you can kiss USC undergrad good bye and hope for some other university?

i think the reason why they state this is because most people who apply to transfer have close to or already have 60 units. If they rejected you at around 60 transferable units, you can't really imporve the situations since they'll only accept a given amount.

But assuming you only had say 30 transferable units, and were rejected, i think you could try again especially when you do 30 more units which would hopefully increase your gpa.

a friend of mine was rejected last year after an SGR and got in this year outright, so don't lose hope!

David - leik got it right. If you got a ton of credits, it may or may not be worth it, but thats entirely up to you.

don't let the letter deter you from reapplying if SC is where your heart is. I've been rejected twice and reapplied for a third time. I got a SGR my first try, rejected outright my 2nd try and an SGR again this time.

You can do it dude. Even if your grades are *, just refocus yourself and get a * load of work done in the class room. Learning from your mistakes and improving yourself is an admirable quality.
