<p>Can anyone tell me reasons for getting excited about college? This is for a survey I’m doing.</p>

<p>lol, sorry... I've been spending a bit too much time on them lately...</p>

<p>Social life is amazing. No going to class 7hrs a day, 5 days a week. 10,000 undergraduate girls (varies by school). College football (varies by school).</p>

<p>The social life is definitely the best part! Anyone can find a college that fits them wonderfully!</p>

<p>S's top reasons: </p>

<ol>
<li> Living away from home without close parental supervision (I assume this probably also includes "partying" - a parent can only do so much by long-distance)</li>
<li> Getting a little closer to getting a "real" job/taking classes that will relate more to what he's actually interested in</li>
</ol>

<p>social life, partying, thousands of attractive guys (so many choices...)</p>

<p>Academically, you aren't burdened with BS work that most high school teachers give their students.</p>

<p>Academics. Social scene....meh.....it can be really nice if you know people but it can really suck if you don't (and don't think this only happens to recluses! I've heard some depressing stories about all kinds). Either way it will be much better if you like your classes and major from the start. College is GOOD TIMES! :D</p>

<p>Getting away from your parents. (Especially important for people who've had really rigid, strict parents).</p>

<p>Take classes ur interested in, you can party a lot more than in highschool, ur bed is always close, u can hang out with friends pretty much whenever u want, you can be in/close to a city if u weren't in highschool, you don't have parents bossing you around, college caf food > highschool caf food, ect...</p>

<p>I was excited about college until I actually got here lol...I hate school. I'd do anything to be a high school senior again because this workload (aka STRESS) is off the wall and everything has gotten old and redundant already...but my social life is cool though</p>

<p>The chance to actually discover yourself away from the peers you grew up around...this only applies if you aren't a commuter, and go to school a good distance away from home...I don't have to pretend to be stupid to be accepted.</p>

<p>Being on your own, social life/parties, going to school and learning something useful/something you are actually interested in (except for potentially core classes), attractive women that aren't actually sluts (with exceptions of course).</p>

<p>Girls who aren't idiots. Lots of them.</p>

<p>(I'm already in college, but that's what I was excited about. I have been mostly pleased.)</p>
