I’m wrestling with whether or not to take the AP tests this year as well, but for different reasons–there have been circumstances with all of my classes which mean I’ll be at a significant disadvantage taking them. My AP Statistics teacher is pregnant and will be on maternity leave soon, for instance. That was a semester-long class to begin with, so she was going to host after-school tutoring sessions, but she won’t be able to now, and she’s the only teacher in my school who knows anything about statistics, so the best I’ll be able to do will be self-study. Similarly, AP Chem was switched to a semester-long class, so we won’t be able to cover all of the material, and as far as AP Lit goes, I passed the Lang exam, so I’d have to make a 5 on Lit to get credit for both. Since we have to pay $87/test, I’m not sure it’s worth it for me to take the tests when I’d be put at a disadvantage for all of them.
