I was on the phone with this transfer counselor and she was happy to give more info about their schools. She said if I'm serious about attending the school I should apply for transfer asap. And after that e-mail, I follow up with a reply and send in my situation. ( I explain it in a quite honest manner, and didn't hold anything back. I guess the problems I have is more personal, but not too personal. Like I explain why I did poorly in my 1st year of college) I also asked few questions, but didn't get her reply for about 3 days. I'm just confused is it not ok to share one's opinion or feeling? I just briefly explain what I did and why I didn't do so well.

What you guys think shes not replying?

Sorry if I posted in a wrong forum.

Shes on vacation. Trust me.

@ menloparkmom I really hope that is the case, I would pray for this reply!

trust me, it is. Its Aug, and transfer Ad Mins are off campus, and will get back to you once school starts again in Sept.

Her job is not to be your personal therapist; her job is to provide information for the transfer process. You should keep your correspondence with her more businesslike and to the point. She cares less about why you didn’t do well in the past, and more about how you know you will be a worthwhile addition to her campus now.

Think about this logically. You need to convince her to let you in – why would you dwell on why you did poorly elsewhere? Why plant seeds of doubt?

You should focus on getting her the info she needs – transcripts, letters of recommendation, whatever paperwork is necessary to start the transfer – rather than “explaining your situation.” it sounds like you’ve already explained it.

@ Pizzagirl sad panda, so its not okay to be honest nowadays? I don’t wanna create doubts, but I thought I have to explain it anyway when they received my application. Jesus, I even photocopied my grades from student portal…ahh, they know where I lived, who I am now…

wonder if she’s going to call my school and do a background check…geez, everything I sent in the email are true and lucky I didn’t diss my school. I KNOW I SHOULDN’T DISS A SCHOOL! lol
