Rec. Letter Thank you Notes

Who sent a thank you note after recieving their letter of reccomendation from their teacher(s) what did you include in it?

bump (ten char)

I haven't asked my teachers for recs yet, but it would be a nice gesture to thank them. Especially if you plan on asking them for recs for another school at some point later in teh year (like if you're doing ED, but aren't very confident about it, and may need to apply elsewhere).

I'll probably just give my teachers, like, some cookies or something as thanks.

I think it's not only nice but obligatory to send a thank you note to somebody who provides you with a letter of recommendation. It's a gift of their time, and if they thought well enough of you to create a positive, reinforcing letter of your character and talents, it behooves you to thank them for their efforts. My daughter, last year, remembered each recommender with a card and box of chocolates during the holidays (after she had received acceptance ED) and also included a copy of a CD of her piano recordings -- 30 minutes of selections that she had sent to the college music department. One of her teachers (a lover of Beethoven) was so captivated that he sought her out and thanked her profusely, saying it was the perfect gift from her. I think anything of a personal touch would be great -- home-made cookies would be fabulous!. Be certain to hand-write your note.
