I'm a junior in high school and I'm starting to think about the whole college admissions process. I know that students typically have 2 teachers write a recommendation letter for them (and a rec letter from their counselor). Trouble is, I don't feel like I've really connected with any of my teachers in high school. I'm a pretty good student (ranked in the top 4), but like I said, I don't know if any of my teachers know me well enough to write a decent letter. Similarly, I've only met with my counselor once. I ended up crying in that meeting because she wouldn't allow me to take 6 AP classes senior year :-/

I have a lab internship at one of the top 10 universities in the US. I was wondering if perhaps my supervisor, a phD candidate, would be an acceptable person to write a rec letter? Also, this summer I'm taking a credit course at Northwestern. If I really like the professor, would he/she be able to write me a letter?

Thanks :)
