Hello, so my teachers submitted their rec letters through common app, though I’m noticing that when I check my application status via the school’s portal, they still show up as missing. Is it because I’m still missing some application documents such as transcripts or should I call the schools?
If your application has been submitted and it’s not even close to the application deadline, leave it alone for a few days. College portals are notoriously slow to update, IME.
Have you otherwise completed and submitted your application through the Common App to the relevant schools? The Common App will not send school reports or recommendations until you have completed and submitted the application to that college. Also, there is often a lag between when things are uploaded to the Common App and when the school records receiving it. I would wait a few days.
Yes, I’ve submitted my application and my teachers submitted their letters roughly a month or so ago which is why I’m concerned
Do your teacher’s letters show as being uploaded on your Common App dashboard? Did you designate those LoR’s in the school specific submission? If yes, it could be as @skieurope suggests that the school(s) have not gotten around to updating the status since you are so early in the process. You can of course email or call the admissions office if you are sure you and your teachers have gone through all the necessary steps in the Common App.
If it is uploaded in CommonApp before the deadline, you don’t need to worry. The school would download the applications and updates in batches. After that, it may take more than a week or two to update their portal.
