Receipt of Application Materials

Sent out materials to a 1/2 dozen schools roughly a week before the 1/15 due date. So far only 2 schools have checked off receipt of ALL items sent in. For the balance of the schools, they only acknowledge receiving part of the materials thus far. Realizing that they are inundated with mail during the last week or so, I'm not panicking yet and won't be calling until after 2/1. Just curious on how others are fairing in this regard?

My son is in a similar situation. What is really perplexing to me is that some things were sent in the same envelope. One item will be marked as received and the other not!

My twinzie are in the same situation. So the advice is wait until Feb 1, without contacting the admission offices, right?

Same situation here at Deerfield. I figure they’re just inundated, so I’ll restrain my urge to call until Feb 1 as they asked. SPS was pretty quick to register receipt. Some others don’t have an online checklist.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Does make me feel better - safety in numbers. ;)

Makes me more comfortable in holding off to 2/1 and hopefully will be all set by then.

kraordrawoh - I agree! SPS was first one in with a “green light” next to everything. Deerfield is one we are still waiting on as well.

OK, so it’s past 2/1. Status on 5 applications:
2 were already marked/notified as compete. Kudos to SPS for being the most organized by far!

2 were marked as not complete but, upon calling and nicely inquiring, it was discovered that all materials were actually in the file but not checked off correctly. One school was extremely polite and apologetic. The other school was very abrupt. Given the thousands of pieces of paper that come through their mail it is understandable how this happens.

1 school still has not confirmed and their phone line just has a recorded message. This is Groton. How is everyone else looking with their Groton application?

One coach at a school took the time to call the house to say that he was monitoring our child’s application and noticed that some items were still not checked off (although they turned out to be there) and encouraged us to call Admissions to check. Brownie points to this coach for caring enough to take the time to do so.

Same situation as you with Groton. I’m watching for that inbound message telling me it’s complete. In one other situation I had to call because several items that were sent had not been recorded. After my call they showed up on the checklist. SPS, Andover, and Lville all were very quick and complete with their online checklists.

IS there a checklist on Groton site? I logged in and only found a weird window allowing you to change emails, and said “You have no personal messages at this time.” That’s it?

Sometimes it is worth a call. There were several schools that did not have online checklists and the secretaries were really wonderful about checking things. In all cases, there was something that was actually in his file that had not been checked off.

Keep your files of application materials organized. Sometimes pieces of applications can be mislaid, and it’s good to be able to send out replacements quickly.

I sent my Financial Aid materials over a week ago, and they haven’t been received yet. Oh well.

Yep, that’s it. They say they’ll send an email to confirm.

I sent mine with delivery confirmation, they received my info last friday but nothing has posted yet.
