Received an Email!

Hey guys… so I was checking my email, and I got an notice from Brown about how to login and get my decisions when March 31st comes around (oh, by the way, it still says March 31st at 5 pm, so i guess they’re back on schedule). Even though I knew it wasn’t the actual decision, when I saw an email from the Brown Admissions office in my inbox my heart skipped a beat. :stuck_out_tongue: I hope that when the decisions do come, my mental/physical health won’t be too strained.

I’m assuming everyone else got this email, too?

D just received the same e-mail. Nice to know they are on track and you all won't have to wait any extra days. Good luck to everyone!

Oh yeah. I did.
I flipped out.
I saw "Brown Admissions Decision" on the top and had intense heart palpitations.
I called my mom in and everything, we braced ourselves....
to read that admissions decisions would be out March 31.
Sweet.

LOL yeah, I did the same thing.

I'm probably going to start checking it March 29th, though, and just continually press the "refresh" button.

Yes I'm so glad that it's March 31 again! (Though they say they're mailing it that day and I thought that wasn't allowed under Ivy agreement?)

It says 6pm local time...does that mean westcoasters find out later or does it say 3pm local time for you? Anyway I'm definitely going to start checking before 6, if not a few days earlier!

I got the same email, but mine says 6 pm.

Ummm my email says 5pm local time.... interesting.

Question: does that mean 5pm MY local time or 5 pm BROWN's local time?

I think YOUR local time. But does it matter? You know you're going to start checking in the morning lol. :p

Haha I probably just won't go to school. :D

And maybe it's like the SATs, when they say they're avaliable at 5 pm or so, but they're actually (usually) available at 1 pm.

Oh I don't have school! I'm on spring break then so you know I'm going to be checking all day.

Oh that's terrible! Because then you have nothing to do all week and you just know the decisions is slowly creeping up on you, and so all you can think about is the decision! (Not that I think about anything else anymore anyway, lol). I like having school that week because it provides somewhat of a distraction.

Because when you wake up on Friday, you'll go straight to the computer and never get off... and you know what they say, a watched pot (monitor) never boils (gives you your decision). :(

hmph, mine says "no sooner than 5:30 p.m. (your local time)."

psh, all well I'll be in the middle of nowhere in Maine (agh! no internet!) b/c my mom loves "roughing it" for spring break ... maybe I'll just try checking it on my cell phone even though I hate going on internet with my dumb phone.

So we have 5 pm for the west coasters, and 5:30 and 6 pm for the east coasters? Strange.

yea that's so strange but I am SO checking before 6pm anyway.

HAHAHA such a good anaology.

Yeah, it totally doesn't matter. I get out early from school, so I'll be home at like 11:30 am. :p That's like 2:30 your time I think. So at least we'll be together for the decisions. Actually, if we confine ourselves to conversations on CC (or a chat room to supercede the 60 second rule), then maybe the time will pass more quickly.

And I like my analogy, too. :)

Maybe the times are different so that they don't have 20K+ anxious people all jumping on the Brown server at once. I can see the server now: "Help! No! Augh! Not the motherboard, not the motherboard!"

Yes, I have too much time on my hands. Waiting for college decisions does that to a girl.

Yeah, I think Brown is just afraid their server will collapse ... or maybe they're being honest and everyone was assigned random times (naaah - lol).

It took me like 30 minutes to get my Brown ED decision ... just imagine the problems with all those people checking at once.

Damn
that would be so frustrating, waiting more time when you know you're supposed to get your decision. And ED wasn't even this many people! So does this mean it'll take like 3 hours?!

Got the e-mail too... 5pm on March 31 I'll be waiting...

6:30 for me. argh, the day can't come fast enough.
